Title: Grow Lead (Production)
Reporting to: Head Grower, Assistant Head Grower
Direct Reports: Grow Associates
Location: Monson, MA
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree with a focus on horticulture, manufacturing, crop management, or relevant work experience. At least 2 years of experience as a greenhouse technician in a hydroponic vegetable production or bedding plant production facility is desired. The candidate should understand how production cycles work in large-scale agriculture. Ideal work experience would be with manual maintenance of high dollar vegetable crops such as tomato, cucumber or peppers. This position will work closely with and report to our Head Grower, assisting in specific aspects and stages in Production and planning, and will report data to a lead compliance representative to record and track production. Key qualities this candidate should embody includes some management skills, exemplifying dimensions of adaptability, problem solving and analysis and versatility. Desired work ethic for this role is comprised of being detail oriented, highly organized, positive, enthusiastic, eager to learn and a good communicator. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.
Cultivation Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)
- Maintaining quality control
- Following pest management procedures
- Take and root the cuttings
- Transition propagation-veg-flower stages
- Tray movement
- Production and post-harvest sanitation
Supporting Responsibilities (to compliance representative)
- Insuring all cuttings are tracked in METRC
- Insuring all plants are in tagged when transitioned into veg and from veg to flower
- Insuring records are are updated weekly in METRC to match all physical plant processes that occurred during the week
- Creating and updating the inventory and supplies for all cultivation materials
- Coordinating with distribution manager to insure all supplies are ordered, received and logged into inventory
- Update inventory records and log sheets on a weekly basis
